The Steam UI has also received a bit of a makeover, with nicer fonts and other cosmetic changes, coupled with improved notifications. These include the web browser, Guides, Discussions, Achievements, and Notes, which is basically Valve’s version of Notepad, with support for rich text formatting, images, and more.

Aside from a very long list of fixes, per the patch notes, the new update officially introduces some long-requested features, including an improved in-game overlay that now allows users to pin select windows. Valve has announced that the major update it’s been working on for the Steam Desktop client has finally left beta and should now be available to all users.
